CEW+ is pleased to welcome the 2023-24 cohort of 89 scholarship recipients and 15 graduate fellows to the CEW+ Scholar community. Thanks to the generous support of individuals, organizations, clubs, and foundations, CEW+ awarded over $704,000 in scholarship and fellowship funds to these resilient and determined agents of change.

Among the current class of scholarship recipients are student parents and primary caregivers, students who are returning to the classroom after a prolonged interruption, students who are underrepresented in STEM fields, first-generation, and international students, and students who have overcome great obstacles to achieve their dream of earning a degree in higher education. CEW+ fellows are engaged in research of importance to women, researching or traveling abroad while completing a health degree, or working to remove barriers impacting advocates and allies striving for social change. These individuals were selected through a highly competitive process as leaders with great potential to make a significant impact in their field. Our 2023-24 CEW+ Scholar Community inductees include 28 doctoral students, 46 master’s students, and 30 undergraduate students, 94 of whom are studying on the Ann Arbor campus. We proudly support 6 additional students at UM-Dearborn and 4 scholars at UM-Flint. This year’s scholarship awards range from $1,000 to $11,000 to cover tuition and living expenses, with fellowships from $2,000 to $6,200 to support research and travel. The average award amount for a 2023-24 CEW+ Scholar is over $7,000.
