Aakanksha Vyawahare
Aakanksha is passionate about improving healthcare access and outcomes, particularly for underserved populations.
Aakanksha Vyawahare balances academic and professional excellence with her family responsibilities as a mother of two. Aakanksha previously earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in dentistry, followed by a postgraduate diploma in nutrition. Currently, she is pursuing dual degrees in health services administration and business administration at the University of Michigan, with a dual focus on management science and environmental, social, and governance issues.
Aakanksha’s professional aspirations are inspired by her father’s dedication to his career. Despite many obstacles, Aakanksha’s father ascended to leadership roles, and Aakansha hopes to follow in his footsteps. She aims to break barriers as a woman of color in leadership roles, striving for inclusivity and diversity in executive positions. Aakanksha is involved in DEI committees for two organizations, Health Management and Policy at U-M as well as Michigan Healthcare Executive Student Association.
As a mother of two young children, Aakanksha’s role as a primary caregiver involves a seamless blend of organizer, educator, and nurturer. Her daily responsibilities include managing her elder son’s school activities and providing full-time care for her younger daughter, fostering their physical, social, and emotional development. Balancing these responsibilities with her academic and career pursuits has been her greatest challenge and her greatest source of strength and inspiration.
Throughout her academic and professional endeavors, Aakanksha has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to her goals, exemplified by her academic excellence, securing an internship at Michigan Medicine, and gaining admission to the MBA program. She actively seeks opportunities for professional development, community engagement, and personal growth, all while being a positive role model for her children. Aakanksha is passionate about improving healthcare access and outcomes, particularly for underserved populations. She aims to make a significant impact both locally and globally, contributing to healthcare advancements and promoting health equity.
