Minkyong Yeon
For Minkyong, impact means more than financial returns—it means building systems where professional success and personal dignity are not competing choices, but shared possibilities.
Minkyong Yeon is pursuing her MBA at the Ross School of Business, where she is committed to combining strategic leadership in global business with inclusive leadership in community. Minkyong’s journey has been profoundly shaped by her mother’s year-long battle with cancer and passing, which inspired her to embrace selflessness as a form of leadership. When she paused her education to care for her father and younger brother, she discovered the power of service in restoring strength and courage to those around her—a value that continues to guide her today.
At LG Innotek, Minkyong carried this ethos into high-stakes work. Leading a 16-member cross-border team during COVID-19 restrictions, she bridged cultural and communication divides to foster trust and collaboration, ultimately driving a successful deal. Recognized for her leadership, she was selected as an MBA sponsorship candidate and went on to spearhead her company’s Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) efforts, reinforcing her vision of using M&A as a lever for sustainable growth.
At Ross, Minkyong has deepened this expertise through the Multidisciplinary Action Project (MAP) and her work as an Investment Associate with the Wolverine Venture Fund. She continues to build financial and strategic acumen while advancing her long-term goal: to lead global M&A at LG Innotek, driving innovation and growth with cultural fluency and integrity.
Minkyong’s leadership extends beyond business. As a board member of the Korean Business Club and a member of the Mothers in MBA (MOMBA) community, she creates spaces where cultural exchange and collective resilience thrive. She advocates for working mothers by mentoring peers and fostering environments where women can pursue both ambitious careers and family life.
For Minkyong, impact means more than financial returns—it means building systems where professional success and personal dignity are not competing choices, but shared possibilities.
CEW+ recognizes Minkyong’s leadership in the field of business and names her a Amy Mecozzi Cho and Lawrence Cho Family Scholar.
